Architecture for the Masses is a magazine that showcases architecture in Pyongyang, DPRK (North Korea). Two editions of the magazine was created in 2014 and 2013. The magazine was a promotion/publication based project produced for Koryo Tours. Online and print version were created. Below a few selected pages from the magazine (total 110 pages), both edition 1 and 2.
“The architecture of Pyongyang is one of the DPRK’s highlights. In any socialist regime, architecture plays a key part in the process of building up a new social and political environment following revolutionary events. The total destruction of Pyongyang during the Korean War gave Korean architects and construction workers a clean slate from which to build a perfect socialist capital anew, and they seized upon that opportunity with relish.” (Koryo Group)
